Expanding Market in China: Kraft Foods Commissions New Production Line in Suzhou

Suzhou, China, July 4, 2011  —  Kraft Foods (Suzhou) Co.,Ltd commissions a new production line today. The opening ceremony is held in Kraft Foods (Suzhou) Co.,Ltd's Hudong Factory and attended by Lorna Davis, President of Kraft Foods China, Sun Yanyan, Deputy Director of Suzhou Industrial Park Administrative Committee, and other guests.

Kraft Foods (Suzhou) Co.,Ltd has two factories, i.e. Hudong Factory and Huxi Factory. The factories produce various products including Oreo, Chips Ahoy, Uguan, Prince, Ritz, Tuc, Pacific Soda, and Jiagai. The production line opened today, which is built with an investment of $ 8 million, can achieve substantial improvement of production efficiency by adopting state-of-the-art technology. With this line, Kraft Foods (Suzhou) is able to increase its production capacity by 26, 000 metric tons per year and create 300 jobs. It takes us only 8 months to build this production line, from inception to dedication, and it will be the most cost-effective production line in Kraft Foods. Moreover, Kraft Foods plans to expand the production capacity of Hudong Factory and Huxi Factory in the future by making capital increase, in order to meet the ever-increasing market demand.

 In 2009, Kraft Foods established in Suzhou its Asia Pacific Biscuits R&D Center which aims to bring about more delicious foods by relentless innovation. The R & D Center is provided with the largest and most advanced pilot baking plant in the Asian and Pacific regions. Some of the new R & D facilities are at the cutting edge of the industry. In the future, Kraft Foods will increase investment in the Suzhou Biscuits R&D Center.
