Kraft Foods China Marking a Delicious Difference in The Communities

Kraft Foods’ China employees launch their “Make a Delicious Difference Week” with activities focused on delicious food and healthy lifestyle choices in five cities and 3 provinces across China

(October 9, 2010Beijing -- Shanghai, Suzhou, Guangzhou, Jiangmen)  More than 500 Kraft Foods China employee volunteers today from Beijing, Shanghai, Suzhou, Guangzhou, Jiangmen cities and Jilin, Hunan,Anhui provinces across China, walked into their communities to help more than 3,000 children in migrant workers’ schools, orphanages and Kraft Hope Kitchen schools in an effort to bring a day’s delicious difference to these children’s life. Kraft Foods China employee volunteers share nutrition and health knowledge, as well as delicious food with the children. They also paint school class rooms and donate books and sports equipments to the schools.

"Make a Delicious Difference Week" is a global community initiative of Kraft Foods. Every year on from October 4 to October 9, Kraft Foods employees are encouraged to put down their work for a day to do community service where they live and work. This initiative is designed to bring delicious and healthy food to local communities, and practice the company’s global mission statement - “Make Today Delicious”. This year is also the first time Kraft Foods and Cadbury employees have come together to volunteer since the two business’ integration this year.

Kraft Foods global mission to "Make Today Delicious" have profound impact on its employees. In today’s fast-paced world, it is easy to overlook those disadvantaged people in our community. “Make a Delicious Difference Week” sets aside time for Kraft food employees to help those people in need, especially the children who live under difficult circumstances. By doing so, we hope to contribute to the building of a harmonious society.

Kraft Foods China has always been focusing on helping rural and urban children in need to improve their nutrition, food supply and food hygence practice. This year, Kraft Foods China has organized 8 community volunteer activities in five cities and 8 provinces across China. 500 employee volunteers will paint the school buildings, educate the migrant workers’ children on nutrition and health knowledge, share delicious food, and teach children how to bake food. As a charity platform for Kraft Foods China employees, “Kraft Hope Kitchen” is also one of the major volunteer venues for “Make a Delicious Difference Week” in China.

ABOUT “Make a Delicious Difference Week”

As a socially responsible corporation, Kraft Foods launched the “Make a Delicious Difference Week” event in 2009. The initiative was designed to help eliminate hunger and promote healthy lifestyles among disadvantaged members of the community, through practical applications.

Branches of Kraft Foods in the United States, Canada, China, Brazil, Australia, Indonesia and 33 other countries launched this activity in 2009.
