2010.07.05

(July 5, 2010, Shanghai China) In accordance with the company slogan, “Make Today Delicious,” Kraft Foods China not only brings delicious products to consumers, but also puts forth effort in providing aid to society through different charity activities. With the 7.1-magnitude earthquake in Yushu, Qinghai in April, and the historically rare flood disaster in Fuzhou, Jiangxi within two and a half months, Kraft Foods China has sent a total of 2728 boxes of biscuits with a value of RMB 400,000, and donated RMB 220,000 to build an anti-seismic local health center in Yushu.

Caring for Fuzhou

A few days ago, 1228 boxes of biscuits, valued at RMB 200,000, were urgently sent to Fuzhou, delivering Kraft Foods’ delicious care to the flood victims. The biscuits were donated to help fight the emergent problem of starvation. After learning about the historically rare flood in Fuzhou, Kraft Foods China paid close attention to the flood victims and immediately contacted Fuzhou Red Cross, sending 1228 boxes of biscuits, including Jaigai, Youguan, Tianqu, and other Kraft brands. The goods arrived on July 30 and were a part of Red Cross’s goal in satisfying the basic needs of the flood victims.

Caring for Yushu

On the very first day of the Yushu Earthquake in April this year, Kraft Foods contacted Yushu Red Cross and donated 1500 boxes of biscuit products with the purpose of assisting Yushu Red Cross in their relief efforts.

Meanwhile, Kraft Foods China also called on its staff members for contributions, all of whom eagerly agreed to participate in the public welfare activities. Due to their active responses, RMB 220,000 was rapidly collected to assist the Qinghai Red Cross in constructing a health center in Ganda country, Jiegu Town, Yushu County. The health center is named “Kraft Foods Anti-seismic Love Health Center” and provides medical and health services in Yushu, which was severely lacking at the time. The health center also provides services and treatment for farmers and herdsmen in Yushu and surrounding areas seeking medical attention. At the meantime, Kraft Foods has also donated 25,000 US dollars to the National Red Cross for earthquake relief.
