Mondelēz’s Oreo Music Box Enchants Customers at Tmall’s Super Brand Day

Biscuits and music, two different things, have now been brought together by Mondelēz China. Oreo, the world's favorite biscuits sandwich, once again has surprised the snack industry by using music to make its voice even more unique. At today’s Tmall 2017 Super Brand Day event, the e-commerce director of Mondelēz China, Mr. Dong Xin and Tmall FMCG Food & Wine General Manager, Mr. Fang Wai, jointly launched the global limited edition "Oreo Music Box."  When the two turned on the box and music began to play, the audience erupted into cheers and applause.

To suggest that a biscuit can make a sound is strange enough, let alone play music. But now, when an ordinary Oreo biscuit sandwich is put into the Oreo Music Box, it is suddenly transformed into "the Mini album", with the "singing biscuits” a perfect gift to “show your love." It is also a "customized 3D MV" and "VR experience” all in one! Once again, Mondelēz China has demonstrated its endless capacity to come up with new and innovative marketing ideas.

Mr. Stephen Maher, President of Mondelēz China said, “In keeping with the popular trend of playing games, we will launch some incredible products to stir interest among our customers. Yet again, we have successfully cooperated with Tmall and composed the wonderful melodies. The launch of the Oreo Music Box is the beginning for us to convey our whimsical love of life to all the people who share in our passion. And our wonderful cooperation will continue.”

This is how to use the Oreo Music Box:

First, put a whole Oreo biscuit into the music box. Turn the switch clockwise to the center, and the "Oreo theme song" will play. The music box comes loaded with four original songs representing different stages of youth: junior high school, high school, university and, finally, the workplace. Taking a bite out of the cookie and putting it back into the box will change the music. Every bite will transform the cookie into different shapes and sizes, which will correspond to the different music tracks.

The Oreo Music Box is also a great medium through which to show your love to friends and family. Just press the black button on the music box, speak your words of love, and then turn the switch counterclockwise to the border and your words will have been recorded. With such an ingenious way to express your affection, your loved one will be delightfully surprised.

Mr. Fang Wai, General Manager of Tmall Food said, “I believe that this new product will be a real surprise for Tmall’s customers. We joined hands with Mondelēz China on Tmall’s Super Brand Day, to launch this global limited edition product. We hope this exclusive ‘Oreo Music Box’ can bring a different experience to our customers.”

In addition, this wonderful “music box” now also offers unique personalized packaging. All you need to do is scan the QR code on the box, and then you can customize your own exclusive MV and select the color of the box. The unique visual VR will make your experience three-dimensional and even more realistic. We hope this limited edition Oreo Music Box will bring a more fun, novel and delicious experience for Chinese consumers.
